Alamance County deserves leadership grounded in responsibility, experience, and respect for constitutional principles. I am Peter Boykin, a longtime community advocate, journalist, and constitutional conservative running for Alamance County Commissioner to bring transparency, accountability, and common-sense governance back to local government.

County government is not about partisan theater. It is about decisions that directly affect daily life. Roads and infrastructure. Schools and libraries. Public safety. Emergency services. Responsible growth. Sound budgeting. County Commissioners set priorities, approve budgets, oversee departments, and serve as a direct bridge between residents and government.

I am formally educated, with a professional background that blends public communication, management, and operational responsibility. Earlier in my career, I served as an Engagement Manager, a role that required strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, conflict resolution, and accountability. That experience taught me how to balance competing interests while keeping outcomes measurable and transparent. Those are skills directly relevant to county governance.

In addition to my professional career, I have led and organized multiple groups in support of constitutional rights, civic engagement, and free expression. Leadership is not a title. It is the ability to listen, organize, communicate clearly, and stand firm when principles are tested. My advocacy work has required coalition building, public outreach, and navigating difficult conversations across political and cultural lines.

Currently, my work involves responsibility for the security of government contracts, a role that demands precision, compliance, risk assessment, and respect for public trust. Safeguarding sensitive operations has given me a deep understanding of accountability, procedural discipline, and the importance of doing things correctly the first time. Taxpayers expect competence, not excuses. That mindset carries directly into how I would approach county budgets, procurement, and oversight.

I am running because Alamance County needs commissioners who are not career politicians, not rubber stamps, and not controlled by special interests. Government should serve the people, not manage them. Every policy decision should pass a simple test: does this protect liberty, improve quality of life, and respect the taxpayer.

My background in journalism reinforces this approach. I ask questions. I verify claims. I demand evidence. I believe transparency is not optional, and public officials should be comfortable explaining their decisions in plain language. “This is how it’s always been done” is not a justification for waste, inefficiency, or overreach.

Alamance County is not a steppingstone for me. It is home. I believe in supporting families, small businesses, veterans, first responders, and law-abiding citizens. I believe schools should educate, not indoctrinate. Public safety should prioritize victims and communities. Growth should be responsible, not reckless. And property rights should be respected.

People should vote for me because I will show up, listen carefully, and vote independently. I will challenge bureaucracy when it loses sight of the people it serves. I will resist outside pressure that ignores local voices. And I will never forget that every dollar spent belongs to the citizens who earned it.

This campaign is about restoring trust in local government and proving that leadership can still be principled, accountable, and grounded in constitutional values.
